Thank you for the reply and support. It helps a lot. Seeing that there ARE folks who get it, helps. Seeing that there are maybe non-Black folks who get it, too, even if just a little--enough to validate different truths and experiences than their own, and recognize that everyone does what they do for reasons that stretch back longer than they've been alive--also helps. If people like the person I responded to could, rather, WOULD do that, everyone would be better and happier in the long-run. The world we all share would be better and happier.
