The GOP and its head-Nazi are upping their ante in the War on the Poor. Props.
I Don't Owe You This Explanation of How I Use My Food Stamps
Once a month I take a trip to the farmer's market where I purchase meat from the butcher and fresh fruits and…
See, this whole thing is partly MY fault, because I’ve been using MY SNAP benefits to buy lobsters, steak, and truffles. Granted, after I’ve spent all my monthly allotted benefits on the aforementioned items — about four meals into the month/a day and a half after the benefits come in — I then don’t eat for the next twenty-eight or twenty-nine days. But still, lobster-and-truffle welfare queens like myself are costing the REAL and DESERVING ‘Murricans among us hard-earned ‘Murrican dollars.
There are faster, more cost-effective ways of killing off us poor and/or minority folks than by addicting us to “free” truffles and lobster that we can then only afford to eat four times a month, and starve for the rest of it. Better, even, than NOT making sure that the drinking water of AMERICAN CITIZENS, SOME OF WHOM ARE FUCKING CHILDREN, isn’t free of lead. (Though, admittedly, that was a damned game-changer of a move. I was unwillingly impressed. In one fell stroke, y’all were responsible for crippling and killing scores of babies. Again: PROPS.)
And clearly, GOP and “President” Trump, you’re really looking into that. By cutting benefits and replacing them with shitty dried goods that possess little or no nutritional value, and taking away people’s choice of how they manage their diet and health. Or their lives, since some people have deathly allergies to heavily-used things like gluten, sugar, nuts, etc. The prepackaged goods that are on “offer” — poor word-choosing since once again, the GOP is trying to do away with “choices” for Americans — aren’t likely to be healthy or even relatively not-unhealthy. These are problematic foods that may cost health and lives.
But it’s supposedly cost-effective. More so than cutting the budget of the industrial military complex. SNAP, along with other nonentity programs like Medicaid/Medicare, Education, Social Security, public works/infrastructure, the arts . . . they’re not important. Physical, mental, and emotional health aren’t important. But war is. Guns are. And an enraged, unhealthy, unstable, ARMED population is certainly the best case scenario for any nation. Sickly, angry, hungry, uneducated, discontent/betrayed youth with access to semi-automatic weapons can only end in smiles, glitter, and unicorns.
The operative words in that sentence being “END” and “FOR AMERICA.”
Kudos on your dedication, GOP. When you finally OFFICIALLY wage your war on those Americans for whom you claim to be doing what’s best, you’ll probably actually win, for once. Enjoy that rush. That first accomplishment is always the sweetest.
